Tags are meant to describe the specific details of your posts. You can think of tags as the words you’d find on an index page of a book.

On the other hand, categories are meant for the general topics of your posts. You can think of categories as words you’d see in the table of contents of a book. Categories let you categorize your content on in a hierarchical structure, which means you can create sub-categories for improved navigation.
