Bio: Dick Wolfe, M.S., P.E.

Dick is a native of Colorado and was raised on a farm in Weld County.  He currently lives in Broomfield where he has resided for the past 26 years.  He and his wife Susan raised three boys and have seven grandchildren.  Dick graduated from Colorado State University with a BS and MS in agricultural engineering and has worked as a professional engineer in water resources for over 37 years.

Dick’s passion for genealogy started over 40 years ago when he received copies of genealogical records and stories from his grandaunt.  Along this great journey he discovered his Colorado centennial families, his Mayflower ancestors and the origins of his English, German and Russian ancestors.  He is a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants (including the Colorado Mayflower Society), the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia including the Northern Colorado Chapter, the American Ancestors, the Bromfield Genealogy Society (BGS), and the Larimer County Genealogical Society (LCGS) including the German Study Group and Technology Study Group.  He volunteers for the LCGS Help Sessions and has done several genealogy presentations.  Lastly, he is the president (through October 2023) of BGS and treasurer for LCGS.

Purpose: This Focus Group is for those interested in using various genealogical tools or are seeking additional information on a particular genealogy topic.  Topics will be decided upon by the members of the group in coordination with the leader.  Karen will use a variety of resources from subject matter experts on YouTube to individuals sharing their experience and knowledge on the selected topic.  Occasionally an outside subject matter expert may be called upon for their expertise.  Past topics include: Family Tree Maker, FindaGrave, and Ancestry.com.
